A few things you should know and check if you are tempted to buy a cheap air conditioner is the size of the company.


You see a guy can buy a container load of air conditioners into the country extremely cheaply, put 100% markup on the unit and stay in business for 1 year, however when the split systems start failing he will just close his business down and start again under another name. So to prevent this the first thing is to make sure they have a national warranty facility, and phone them to make sure they are real.


Secondly, read the fine print. The cheaper brands generally say that is a compressor fails, you need to pay a technician to remove the compressor, they then expect you to post off the air conditioning compressor to another state , then if they agree that the compressor failed, they will replace the compressor but you need to pay to have it reinstalled. Does that sound fair? The total cost of this whole procedure for a 2hp split system $1800.00 (more than the cost of the air conditioner)
